Welcome to SpartacusRoosevelt.com.
This site is the home of the Spartacus Roosevelt Hour Podcast and various other content.
The original tagline for the Spartacus Roosevelt Hour was
A weekly hour of obscure noise, glitchy electropop, fake nostalgia, bastardized exotica, tweaky lounge, creepy ambient and musical non sequitors.
While the focus of the show has evolved in the four years since the show began, these styles and genres continue to be in heavy rotation on the SRH.
While the tracks played on the SRH are all over the map in terms of styles and genres, I believe they are all linked by the idea that every track creates a very specific sonic place, a sense of space and location that is identifiable as the Spartacus Roosevelt Hour.
When asked to identify who would appreciate the music on SRH, I came up with the following list:
This podcast is recommended for aging goths, Terrence McKenna wannabes, dada-ists, Stockhausen freaks, ex-ravers with sizzling synapses, fetishists, beat revivalists, moody hip hoppers, record store geeks, pagans, subgenius, former hardcore kids, hippie burnouts, the intellectually pretentious, the partially deaf, doom metallers, piercing devotees, and lovers of machine noises.
Thank you for listening and enjoying the show. Please send any feedback to Spartacus via email, Facebook, the Facebook Group, MySpace, Twitter or any other way you can figure out.
